Skurda Canyon is one of the most interesting canyons in Montenegro, because of the untouched nature that abounds in the canyon and the numerous waterfalls down the rope. Skurda Canyon is located above the old town of Kotor.
Turquoise green water, incredible waterfalls, narrow corridors, vertical cliffs, various shapes of stone figures and sculptures of walls that have been shaped by water for years, the diversity of flora and fauna make this aesthetic experience that makes this canyon unique, attractive and fun.
This canyoning adventure itself does not require much physical fitness. It runs in 6-7 hours, except in the rainy season.
All the participants of the adventure are provided with all the necessary equipment (neoprene suits, neoprene socks, belts and helmets) as well as a light snack halfway down the canyon.
The canyon adventure plan through Skurda Canyon is as follows:
- As previously agreed with the crew, we meet at the main waterfall near the old town, where we park and store our equipment. After that we start with serpentines up to 250m.a.s.l, there we turn and go up the hiking trail approximately 500m diagonally until we enter the canyon.
- When we reach the canyon entrance, we put on suits and the adventure begins.
- The entire canyon is dominated by waterfalls from 10m to 20m down the rope. Nothing complicated for adventure participants.
- Getting out of the canyon is just when one gets to a waterfall, which means that there is no need for hiking to reach transport.
